On Thursday, October 25, 2018, the Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee awarded over $923,000 in grants to 10 nonprofit organizations. These grants are the result of a year-long effort to stimulate projects related to Trinity’s mission of improving the physical, emotional and spiritual health of East Tennessee. In March, 53 proposals were submitted and from those, 11 large and 11 small Phase I grant recipients were awarded over $200,000 in June for project planning and research. Phase I recipients were given a three month period to further develop their projects with final proposals presented in September. This year, five large and five small Phase II grants were selected to receive implementation funding in Phase II. These awards emphasize the commitment of these organizations to address and remedy many of the challenges faced by the community.
Trinity has awarded over $5.9 Million over the past six years in Health Initiative Grants. The creation of the Initiative Grants is to target the health of our region, and this year winning projects will touch a multitude of needs in our area. Each year the Trinity Board has a difficult time selecting winners due to the outstanding ideas and many needs in our community, and this year was no exception. Winners were based on impact and sustainability demonstrated in written reports, oral presentations and site visits. Trinity is proud to support so many wonderful organizations that are making a difference in our community. To learn more about this year’s winners, click here 2018 Phase II Grant Recipients.
